Hello Neighbor is a first-person stealth horror puzzle game where fear doesn’t come from gore or monsters, but from the constant feeling of being watched. Developed by Dynamic Pixels and published by tinyBuild, the game officially launched in 2017 after a long testing phase.

A House Full of Secrets

The game takes place in a quiet neighborhood where your neighbor is hiding a dark secret inside his locked house. As you sneak inside, the house keeps changing to stop you from getting closer to the truth. Hello Neighbor does not explain the story directly, so players learn what happened by exploring, watching their surroundings, and understanding clues hidden in the environment.

GAMEPLAY FOCUSED ON OBSERVATION AND TRIAL

In Hello Neighbor, players are not guided by fixed paths or clear instructions. Your main task is to break into the neighbor's house and uncover what is hidden inside, while avoiding being caught.

To progress, players have to actively:

Sneak into the house through unlocked doors, windows, or hidden entrances
Search for keys, switches, and usable items that unlock new rooms or mechanisms
Solve environmental puzzles, such as powering devices, moving objects, or reaching higher areas
Use everyday objects (boxes, magnets, glue, etc.) to create new paths or block traps
Escape and hide when the neighbor notices you and begins to chase

Getting caught is part of the learning process. Each failure shows you: which routes are unsafe, where traps are placed and how the neighbor reacts to your actions.

Hello Neighbor delivers horror in a subtle but effective way:
